The Ellis Residence / listed at $2.995M
Located in the Angeleno Heights HPOZ, this Stick Style Victorian triplex has been immaculately restored and updated, including original millwork, flooring, and stained glass windows. The property sports over 3,200 sqft of living space with a total of 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
The Ellis Residence was constructed in 1883 in Bunker Hill for Reverend John Wesley Ellis, a former Ohio infantryman during the Civil War. Once Ellis moved in 1885, the house would see time as a hospital (the early beginnings of what is now Good Samaritan Hospital!), a home to an eventual State Supreme Court Justice, and a boarding house. The home was sold in the early 1900s and moved from its original Olive Street location to nearby Toluca Street, where it remained until it was moved (again!) in 1989 to its present-day location on Edgeware in Angelino Heights. The Ellis Residence is the last surviving Bunker Hill home.
